Stichting Cazas Wonen feels right at home in the neighbourhood

Following the successful completion of the new head office in Woerden, Stichting Cazas Wonen asked us to also design their neighbourhood office in IJsselstein. The new location in MFC De Sterrenwacht places the Woerden housing corporation right in the heart of its community. On the upper floor of the building, we applied the new workplace strategy from the head office: three zones for different ways of working, each with its own identity. The result is an accessible workplace where employees and residents naturally meet.

We developed a new interior architecture for improved access to the upper floor. It consists of a variety of workstations, two meeting rooms, a pantry and a cosy waiting area. In addition, we supplied part of the loose furnishings, an area rug and the interior solar shading.

Light, visibility and transparency

The existing layout with closed walls was partly demolished and replaced with glass partitions, making daylight immediately visible upon entry. Employees see residents arriving and welcome them right away. Residents, upon entering, have a direct view of the meeting room, where events and resident participation evenings are regularly organised. The characteristic curtains with a horizontal solid band were applied here once again: they provide privacy during meetings without compromising on daylight.
